England Broad-en their horizons

Stuart Broad and Steve Harmison received their England recall today for the Oval test match, starting tomorrow (Thursday).

Broad, who was inexplicably dropped for the third test, has so far managed to score more runs in the series than Paul Collingwood, Andrew Strauss and Michael Vaughan, and his bowling is not too bad either.

Steve Harmison, having been left out in the cricket wilderness, has not played a game for England since the Hamilton test match in New Zealand, in March 2008. His return to the side will decide if there will be any chance of him making it into the Ashes team next summer. Although, having had a successful summer playing for Durham, the odds are in his favour.

England must ignore the fact that the series has gone, and concentrate on returning to winning ways, with the confidence and ability the team possessed two years ago.
