England v South Africa, Oval Test Match - lunchtime update

England have had a mixed morning. Pietersen, having lost the toss, was forced to field against a triumphant South Africa, still on a high from their great win at Edgbaston.

And it could have gone England's way this morning, with a golden chance of a wicket from the very first ball. Steve Harmison forced a bad shot out of Graeme Smith which headed straight to Alastair Cook. But, as with England's luck of late, the ball was in and then jumped out of his hand.
Mckenzie has been the only wicket to fall caught by Cook off Flintoff's bowling.

Nightwatchgirl is currently in a tropical monsoon not far from the Oval and the chances of a full day's play seem minimal.

Lunch time score: 64-1
