England Win, Kind Of...

The England side have done what every team wants to do, aims for, longs for, dreams of: they've managed to win a Test match from almost three years ago without actually having to do anything.

That controversial game between England and Pakistan at the Oval is 2006 was originally ruled a win for England due to Pakistan having a sulk in the dressingroom and not coming out to play with their friends. Then it was changed to a draw. And now it's been changed back again to a win.

If only the ICC could do something about the Ashes '06-'07; one win would really be very helpful to change that 5-0 drubbing, surely there's something they can do.

The ICC only changed the result back because of the kicking they got from many in the cricket community including the MCC World Cricket Committee and Michael Holding, who resigned in disgust at the ICC's spinelessness.

Put me in charge of the ICC and I'd soon sort things out. Backsides would be kicked, egos well and truly burst and the ICC relocated to somewhere in the real world. Probably Birmingham. Which isn't snowed in at the moment, unlike outside. 8 inches so far and counting...

Take charge Jamie. It's the only way they'll learn.

Darrell Hair has said that senior ICC offials should quit now the ICC has backtracked. He's one guy I would happily buy a drink if ever I met him.
