Ashes Squad Announcement

Today is the day. Judgement day. Ashes day. There should be some sort public holiday, some type of flower should be worn (NWG opts with a red rose).

Who'll be in?

Michael Vaughan - doubtful.
Steve Harmison - likely.
Matthew Hoggard - in NWG's dreams.
Ryan Sidebottom - if he's in, NWG will cry.
James Foster/Matt Prior - hmmm, interesting.

She's too nervous to write.

Update:

No Steve Harmison. Ok. But Ryan? Really? NWG is relieved that Graeme Swann is in there.

She's been so looking forward to this summer and now, when it comes down to it, she has a nasty feeling. Arrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh. When will it be over?????

Happy?

No post on the final? Like that is it?

Oh Stani. NWG was at the final yesterday, supporting Pakistan. She was very happy they won. Sri Lanka never stood a chance.

There will most likely be a post about it. She's just a bit nervous about the Ashes announcement.

I forgive you....for now.

Did you support us before the game or after?

The Nightwatchgirl said...

Obviously before. NWG went to Lord's knowing full well that supporting Pakistan was the only option. As she said before, because England beat Pakistan in the group stages, it's like England beating the champions.

If that's not convoluted, she doesn't know what is....

Nice to see Harmlessone left out. For me he can put county batsmen in hospital on a regular basis and he still won't get picked because I think he's shot at the top level.

The rest is predictable. For me there's still a huge question mark over Ian Bell and Monty Panesar doesn't deserve to be included at all.

As his autobiography is reported to be a bit of a middle finger at the ECB (and rightly so in my view) it may be that Hoggy never gets to wear those three lions again.

Huge congratulations to Pakistan for winning the world T20. I have a lot of time for Younus Khan as a player, as a captain he appears to have united his team and got them to peak at the right time. Huge respect to him and the team. A consitently good Shahid Afridi is a scary thought indeed for opposition players :)

With men like Kumar Sangakkara and Younus Khan as captains of international teams there is hope for the playing side of cricket. Now we just need to sort the administrative side out...

We weren't Champions when you beat us. Ha

That's not the point, and you know it.

Its a joke that Bell is considered a better no.3 than Vaughan. Onions better than Harmlessone, not likely. Ryan is probably being picked on his T20 form which makes perfect ECB sense. Overall, England has decided to go in with an inexperienced lineup.

Yes, the point is that you didn't think of that. NWG is getting outplayed at her own game ooooh.

Show off. "we beat the Champions, we beat the Champions"...No you didn't!

Liar, liar, bum's on fire.

Trying a bit too hard there Stani Army

Yeah Ben, you tell him. Ganging up on NWG is not on, Stani. Just because England beat Pakistan....

Trying too hard at what Ben?

That's right NWG. England beat Pakistan and not the Champions. You can only beat the Champions after the final, but there is no game after the final is there?
