England's ODI Chances Rated Slim To None
It's not looking good.
Bopara: fail.
Prior: fail.
Shah: fail.
Is it because England don't care or can't play ODIs?

Good afternoon NWG from a cloudy New Jersey. I'm listening to TMS and following commentary on Cricinfo. I agree with your comment on disinterested players but I actually think England will win this one. Even the commentators are chatting amongst themselves rather than commentate on the action or lack of it. Maybe we're all just jaded with this format and let's be honest 7 ODIs is just a money grabbing exercise which is about to fall flat imho! Enjoy your blog immensely.
I'm sure you already know my thoughts on this NWG, but if I can organise for the Aussies to hand England a 7-0 win in the ODIs, will you give us the Ashes trophy back?
Noooo! Sid, frankly I'm not an English fan but it is imprinted in my DNA to cheer on Aus' opposition. Saffer here :) But honestly I am a supporter of Team Luke and as far as I'm concerned he is victorious.
Ahhh Bon, my favourite Soufrican. Timed to perfection as always.
Just don't let Purnmeister hear you saying that or she may form a tag-team partnership with Nightmare. It's all good though, Bella and Es would have them any day.
Nightwatchgirl's Pick of the Cricket News this week
Farewell Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey. NWG always enjoys it when useful Australian batsmen retire, even if one of them is moody and small.
Stuart Broad is on NWG's naughty list. If she ever meets him she would like to educate him in how to be a polite human being instead of being mean to Sir Ian Botham. It's not on Stuart. And that's probably why your heel hurts. Just saying.
Of all the things to invent in the world of cricket, did we really need wickets that light up when they get hit? NWG is doubtful. The Big Bash therefore falls short in terms of innovation. She would have preferred one fielder to have springs in their shoes so they could jump really high or something equally as funny/ridiculous/dangerous.
NWG would like to advertise herself. For once. She advises you all to listen to this podcast and note all the kind things they say about NWG...
NWG would like to thank Patrick Kidd at The Times for putting NWG in the top 50 cricket blogs in the world. She is overwhelmed.
Andrew Symonds makes bold statement: "I'm in a position of responsibility and I can't live irresponsibly. I've realised that." Groundbreaking. (NWG can't bear to take this down)
Ashes Forum
Come and check out the new Ashes Forum on Silly Point with Nightwatchgirl. Don't be shy...
It is my mission to make cricket understandable to all. So along with cricket news, there will also be explanations of particular rules and any other weird business that happens on or off a cricket field.

douglas
you're too much of an optimist Douglas.
Team Luke Wright bowled excellent, just such a pity that The Paine intervened with his batting.
Brandon
There is no reason why they should not be decent at ODI. They have some good T20 players so these should also be good at 50 overs.
Well they won the Ashes so We all knew they'd lose the ODI's so wats the big suprise??

:-)
P.S. Cricket Corollary - you are absolutely right, Luke Wright has been really good.
I'm searching out an Australian grandparent for him, so cricket australia can poach him ... :-)

Luke Wright is property of the English. No arguments. If you want 7-0, you are welcome, Sid.
All South African fans are welcome on NWG. Until the tour this winter.
Then we're enemies.
(NWG realises this is fruitless. South Africa will most likely run England over)
And she was only joking about the enemies thing. NWG has no enemies, except those that don't like Matthew Hoggard.
...like me.
Why didn't you just write my name?
Stani - NWG knows you would love for her to hate you, but she has no room for hate in her life.
Aaaah. See everyone?! I knew she loved me...she just has serious trouble saying it as her last comment proves...serious trouble.
Take that Hog-face! I bet he's never had competition like this before eh? Shamone!
I'll secretly cheer Team Luke on at the Wanderers ;)
Stani, nobody can hate you, you're such a great buddy to have, and if somebody does then its their loss.
