And what makes this worse is coach Andy Flower's comments:
"Pakistan is a very dangerous side, but I think we are pretty dangerous as well."
Now this is simple: never call your opponents dangerous, even if they are. And never call yourself dangerous.
Especially when you're England.
England are many things (annoying, frustrating and in no way dependable), but dangerous is not one of them.
Today's game will hopefully be a cracker, but NWG has a bad feeling...

England have a good record against Pakistan, and I expect them to take this match. They beat the then-soon-to-be Champions during last year's tournament.
The one player that worries me is Mohammad Aamer, he looks like a really good bowler, and he's younger than Steve Finn.
GCW - NWG likes your positive attitude. She wishes she had one.
Hahaha, you are funny Mare. I think if England wanna have a chance they need to show grit. Pakistan cricketers hate it. No, not the kind of grit Athers had in his pocket, I'm talking about doggedness.
By the way, did Flower explain what it is England were dangerous at?
GCW,
I think if there's any bounce then Aamer will be affective. Saeed Ajmal will be a pain in the behind too.
England do have a good record against Pakistan but Pakistan are world leaders in twenty20 in terms of % of games won.
NWG - We're not in the '90s now. Positivity is allowed.
Stani - I think England have the sort of team to counter the Pakistani strengths. And we have at least two pain-in-the-behinds of our own.
Damn it, I keep forgetting to switch to the name/url option.
Stupid Blogger. Get yourself switched to Wordpress, NWG.
They called Ryan a fking plank on Testmatchsofa.
Ben - what is this you speak of? NWG has never heard of testmatchsofa. What is it????? Because they are completely right and NWG needs to listen.
Mark - NWG is English. It is ingrained in her blood to be negative.
GCW - NWG does not take kindly to being called stupid. What's wordpress anyway....
NWG
Mark & GCW are one and the same...
Please note the capitalization of the word "Blogger". I wouldn't dream of calling you stupid. Five minutes spent reading this site proves otherwise.
Wordpress is better than Blogger, which is the most important thing about it.
Stani
What was that about Ajmal? I think Afridi is the one with a throbbing backside...
GCW,
I was talking about pain in the backside to us ;)
NWG - If you want to check out Test Match Sofa, I have their player on my site.

It's reverse shrinkology and Flowers believes it which is a good sign.
Also even by their own gold medal standards of hysterical infighting and head-hunting from the PCB in place of actual preparation for tournaments, Pakistan have really outdone themselves this year. Who knows if Gul is really injured? He might just be the victim of choice this month.
