Farewell Ricky

And then there was none.

Australia have lost their captain in the wash/on the train/down the back of the sofa and now they're stuck with Michael 'I can bat honest' Clarke.

But NWG would like to take a moment to pay her respects to Ricky.

For it was he that insisted on using his face as a bat occasionally when playing against England.

And it was him that decided the best thing to do during the Winter was pick Michael Beers.

And it was him that thought the best course of action during the World Cup was to resign as captain.

Because despite his temper and his belief that if he shouted at an umpire they would go back on their decision, Ricky was a pretty handy batsman, and NWG, despite everything, will miss his face when he gets cross.

Mare,
He only resigned just to get you back blogging. It was obvious nothing else would ...not even me.

Ah Stani, NWG was just cricket saturated. It's better now, only one match left and she can get back to what she does best....

moan about the England lot.

...you missed a lot of moan about England material.

The ECB are gonna do a review. Wasting time and money only to conclud 'we're just sh*t'.

I am almost as weary of cricket as the Eng players. I hear their dressing room is not the happy place it was at the start of the tour. They ran out of gas at the end, Broad managed to even get himself shipped home injured twice on one tour. Pakistan could have dome something special and stolen India's WC but of course they saved some of their worst cricket for the vital match. Did someone forget to use powerplay. A lot of talented players waiting for someone to turn them into a team. Will NWG be looking forward to the royal wedding?

Ben - the only thing NWG has to look forward to is the wedding. Of course, she is attending. She's picked out a dress and a big hat and she's very excited.

On the England front - NWG is not surprised the England dressing room is a sad place. They've played non-stop since November and they need a break. The ECB should be ashamed of themselves.

And before anyone asks, no, NWG has not decided who she will be supporting tomorrow...

Ben - You're right. That game should have been a stroll. Did you see the Sachin LBW review decision?

Royal wedding...national holiday right? Thats all I'm worried about.

Sri Lanka all the way! For supporting the Stanis when no one else did!

Is NWG related to royalty? She should put the family coat of arms on her blog.

Mare's just peeved that Will's been taken and that her quest to become a royal is vanishing. Don't worry Mare, Harry's not tied down yet!

There is a lot on the objective point missing; what's about the England material?

Dont think Harry will go for a quiet, cricket watching type. NWG is too good for that twit.

SL did quite well with half a team. Probably a bad idea to drop Mendis seeing as the replacement bowlers were very ordinary. They needed a fit Murali or to get Vaas out of retirement to have a chance, or to have made over 300. Gave away too many easy singles, which was either due to bad fielding or setting the wrong field. With most of their good players in their twilight, they dont seem to have any young world class players.

...you gotta watch out for those quiet cricket watching types Ben...
